Comparing Twelve Songs by W.H.Auden and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good

Comparing Twelve Songs by W.H.Auden and Do not Go make up Into That favorable Night by Dylan ThomasThe two poems I am comparing atomic number 18 Twelve Songs by W.H.Auden and Donot Go Gentle Into That honest Night by Dylan Thomas. Two themes runthrough both of these poems, those themes ar grief and death.Although the subjects are the same, the poets separately fox a truly varied approach to the subjects. This is shown in many differentways, But although their approach to the subjects are very different, their overall views on grief and death are soothe similar. That beingthat neither grieving nor death is total, and no one wants it tohappen. psyche who has lost a loved one, and feels nothing is important nowthat they have gone is narrating Twelve Songs. A parole is narratingDo Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. The son is telling his tyronot to die. Twelve Songs is not talking to anyone he is talking nearly someone. Whereas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good night the sonis t alking to his start rather than talking about him. The tone ofeach poem is quite similar. They both use orders and commands just theyuse them very differently. Twelve Songs uses a list of instructionor commands throughout the undivided poem. Do Not Go Gentle Into ThatGood Night uses two operating instruction manual Do Not Go Gentle Into That GoodNight and Rage rage against the dying(p) of the light. Dylan Thomasuses these two lines throughout the whole poem but only uses those twoinstructions either at the beginning or the end of each stanza.W.H.Auden uses a lot of Instructions, in fact the whole poem is justinstructions Stop all the clockspack up the corn liquor and dismantlethe sun But none of the instructions are repeated at any other poi... ...ave out that message to the reader. Dylan Thomas did not reallygive out a message to the reader aside from to put up a fight againstdeath. His aim of begging his father not to die and to create animpact worked. He did use instructi ons but not in the same way asW.H.Auden, however his instructions did work as he used them to beghis father to not go gentle into that good night. The maindifference between these poems is that Twelve Songs is about afterdeath and Do Not Go Gentle In to That Good Night is about beforedeath. The main similarity is that they both use instructions and eventhough they use them very differently they are sedate very effective inboth poems and are used well. as well as both poems talk about personalfeelings but only at the end. I pray do not go gentle into that goodnight, and I thought love would last forever I was wrong.
